The effects of rutin and quercetin on ECG parameters in 5-FU-induced cardiotoxicity rat model

5‐fluorouracil (5-FU), a pyrimidine analogue anticarcinogenic agent, is widely used in the solid tumors treatment. Use of 5-FU causes cardiotoxicity. Our aim this study investigations effects Quercetin and Rutin on ECG parameters 5-FU-induced cardiotoxicity rats. In present male Rats were divided randomly to eight group. The control group was given intragastric corn oil for 14 days. rats ig days injected intraperitoneal single dose 5-FU(50 mg/kg) eleventh day. Q50+5-FU Q100+5-FU groups 50 mg/kg 100 Q days, respectively these 11th application. Q100 Q(100 mg/kg-ig) Rutin50+5-FU Rutin100+5-FU respectively. These Rutin(100 end experimental application recorded ECGs administration observed that it caused sinus tachycardia ST elevation. Also, QRS segment shorter duration amplitude P different from other groups. both doses prevented changes our findings seen consistent with literature.
